“ Failures of Leadership and Judgmen t,” Sue Gray Report Releases: What are the Findings? Sue Gray, the Second Permanent Secretary in the Cabinet Office, published her official ‘partygate’ report this week. On the 31st of January 2022, Sue Gray released her 12-page long investigation into 16 events that took place in either 10 Downing Street, the Cabinet Office or the Department for Education between May 2020 and April 2021. The investigation was announced after a video emerged of former Conservative spokesperson Allegra Statton discussing the parties in a mock press conference. Sue Gray’s team interviewed 70 individuals and examined emails, texts and WhatsApp messages. In a 133-word conclusion, Sue Gray detailed 6 main findings: Some behaviour at these gatherings is “ difficult to justify .” There was a serious failure to uphold standards expected of the British public.
